Dr David Begley
Dr David Begley starts 2020 with a fresh focus on the importance of training future generations of doctors, particularly in light of the recent coronavirus health issues effecting the world’s population.
Historically, Dr Begley has always regarded this focus as extremely important and has always been heavily involved in education upon qualifying himself.
He completed his postgraduate certificate in medical education (PG Cert Med Ed) from the University of Cambridge in 2013, gong on to become the Royal College Tutor at Royal Papworth from 2013 to 2018.
Through this involvement with undergraduates from the School of Medicine in Cambridge, he is also a University of Cambridge Senior Clinical Tutor.
Further, Dr Begley is regularly invited to provide educational support through presentations and training at the annual Heart Rhythm Congress, British Cardiovascular Society Annual Conference and for the regional Cardiac Update courses (organised by the Arrhythmia Alliance).
Dr David Begley, the Cardiologist Specialist
Upon being introduced to electrophysiology and ablation, Dr David Begley was immediately intrigued by the ability to offer a permanent cure to many patients with heart rhythm problems responsible for frequently alarming and distressing symptoms.
Upon completion of a period of medical training in the United States, he sought to complete specialist training in cardiology and cardiac rhythm management at the highly respected Freeman Hospital in Newcastle.
As a consequence, he was recognised as an early pioneer in the treatment of patients with cardiac arrhythmias.
Read a review of Dr David Begley
“Suffering from Ventricular Tachycardia, I was looking for a better solution than just palliative drug care. After research on the web, I met Consultant Cardiologist Dr David Begley and that meeting totally changed my life for the better.
Following investigation, Dr David Begley informed me that I was suitable for ablation, a process which other, less specialist, doctors had declined before because mine was “a difficult case”.
From the outset, Dr David Begley was careful to explain all aspects of my condition. He impressed me with his professional but relaxed and friendly manner and I felt free to ask as many questions as I wanted. After our first meeting, I came away feeling very positive.
My ablation proved to be very successful. Dr Begley gave me back my life. Before treatment, I was in fear of VT attacks and I had many. Following treatment, I am able to work and live in a way that was impossible earlier. It is difficult to adequately describe how grateful I am.
I would recommend anybody in a similar situation to follow my path as soon as possible.”
